At Sacred Knitting, we believe in the power of knitting as a coping skill for stress. We help you utilize your knitting practice for mindfulness to build resilience and regulate the nervous system. Sacred Knitting is a ritual and meditative movement, it is an act of resistance and community. It is a way to connect with our knitting practice that honors intentional and peaceful making.

With training in conventional and naturopathic medicine, every aspect of this program is informed by clinical knowledge and somatic expertise. Each component, from the physical elements to breathwork to rhythm, is thoughtfully designed to support a calmer, more regulated nervous system. The sessions are hand-crafted to provide a gentle, evidence-informed space for presence, grounding, and creative flow.

Kelsey is a Registered Nurse and Naturopathic Doctor with a passion for knitting. In her private practice (Lavender House Holistic) she values a holistic approach to health, helping clients make sustainable lifestyle changes to achieve their goals. Kelsey learned how to knit from her mother and grandmother many years ago. Her relationship with knitting transformed when her grandmother passed away and knitting went from a "hobby" to a Sacred act. You can find her knitting at the beach or swimming in the sea.
Our signature program, 'Knitting for your Nervous System' is for knitters of all experience levels with no previous mindfulness or breathwork experience required. This immersive experience is an introduction to utilizing knitting practice for nervous system regulation.
Mindfulness is a practice, and as such, best to be repeated. As with any exercise class 'Knitting for the Nervous System' is most effective as a series. We offer a discounted demo experience to gauge community interest and see what will work best for you! Series are offered in 4- or 8-week sessions or monthly or quarterly offerings.
This offering transforms knitting into a sacred practice for honoring memory and processing loss. Inspired by the passing of my grandmother, each stitch becomes a gentle way to hold remembrance, reflect, and cultivate presence. Participants are invited to knit their memories into mindful practice, creating space for stillness, insight, and connection.
